Michale Graves (of the Misfits)
(solo acoustic)
- presented by Live-Metal.Net
Wednesday, September 17th $15 8 P.M.
pop-rock
In the fall of 1995 Michale Graves was nineteen and recording a demo in Lodi, New Jersey with his little known band "Mopes" when the owner mentioned that some of his friends were looking for a singer and that he might be what they were looking for. After some contemplation, Michale made a phone call to schedule an audition that would ultimately change the course of his life forever. He was about to get that all elusive "big break" that everyone is always waiting for.
On Halloween night in 1995 after a brief appearance on stage at The Roseland Ballroom in New York City, he became the lead singer and played his first official gig at a club called Coney Island High with one of the most legendary punk rock bands of all time, The Misfits.

Caroline Herring
w/ Rebecca Pronsky
Thursday, September 18 $15 7 P.M.
folk/Americana
Caroline Herring digs deep—deep into the rich soil of American roots music for her sound, and deep into the recesses of her own consciousness for her themes. The musically understated, psychologically intense songs of this Atlanta-based Mississippi native ponder the eternal verities while probing the complex nature of contemporary existence; she delivers them in a fine-grained alto replete with the residue of hard-earned insight.
Rebecca Pronsky, who has become a very popular act here after opening slots with Peter Case and Lucy Wainwright Roche, opens.

Peter Mulvey and
Bob Sima
Friday, September 26th $12 8 P.M.
blues
Peter Mulvey began as a self-described "city kid" from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He played, wrote, and sang in bands while studying theatre at Marquette University. After graduating, he traveled to Ireland, where he learned the trade of busker on the streets of Dublin. Returning to the U.S. a few years later, he settled in Boston, building an audience through street and subway performing, while also immersing himself in the thriving musical community. Since his 2000 release The Trouble with Poets, Mulvey has found a home with the venerable indie label Signature Sounds Recordings. His most recent albums for the Massachusetts label were the 2006 release The Knuckleball Suite, the 2004 release Kitchen Radio, the 2003 collaborative Redbird album (with label-mates Kris Delmhorst and Jeffrey Foucault), and his 2001 CD, Ten Thousand Mornings, an album of cover songs recorded entirely in the subways of Boston. MOJO described the album as "simultaneously Mulvey's homage to his one-time training ground and a beautifully atmospheric record of gifted interpretations."
Bob Sima is quickly earning a huge following here, after compelling opening turns in front of Jesse Harris and Natalia Zukerman.

Adam Kowalczyk
Saturday, September 27th $15 8 P.M.
alt-rock
Since 1999, Adam has toured the world’s stages from mid-sized venues to sold out stadiums alongside his brother Ed Kowalczyk playing rhythm guitar and singing background for LIVE. He has also performed as a studio musician on LIVE’s album releases. On the other side of this spectrum sits Adam’s solo career and the proof of his inner markings as an artist, and the cultivation of his “voice.” His debut CD ‘Looking Up from the Ground’ (2003) with his band, Adam and the Weight, was nominated by the LA Music Awards as ‘Independent Pop Album of the Year’. He also received an Honorable Mention at the ‘the International Songwriting Competition 2004’ for the song entitled “Never Good at Fighting.” In 2005, he followed “Looking Up from the Ground” with his first solo independent release, “The Dream EP” which was recorded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and co-produced by Adam Kontis at Moontree Studios. “The Dream EP” contains 12 compelling songs in which he reflects about his life and times in Los Angeles and his experiences on the road in an attempt to bring his audience a breath of fresh air from the current mainstream. Consider “The Dream EP” to represent more of a chapter in a heartfelt book of many to come.

Johnny A.
Tuesday, September 30th $20 8 P.M.
blues
Johnny A. is widely regarded as one of America's finest contemporary guitarists. Gibson thinks so – their Custom Shop designed a Signature Edition guitar per his specific requests which, when it was marketed in 2003, placed him in an exclusive club that included legends like BB King, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, Joe Perry, Pat Martino and Les Paul himself. The public thinks so too - Johnny A.'s latest works have sold many thousands of copies as well as being his personal best. The most recent CD's - 2004's Get Inside and 1999's Sometime Tuesday Morning, are the critically acclaimed solo culmination of a lifetime of learning, sharing and bonding in a long parade of bands and players.
